At RSM, I built marketing campaigns end-to-end. I found suitable offers and contacted offer owners. I created ads and managed over $250,000 in total ad spend across campaigns. I designed and built landing pages in Wordpress. Later I hand-coded those pages for speed. And finally I optimized everything to profitability.
At the YMCA I built and maintained two new Wordpress websites for all of the YMCAs in Orange County, California. I also maintained an internal Joomla site for Y employees. I worked in a fast paced, deadline driven marketing department at the Y.
I solved a big challenge at the Y, where each branch had it's own colors, while being part of the same website. Our Wordpress theme did not support custom colors per section. So I solved the issue with some custom CSS that gave each branch it's colors.
I Built and launched a digital product from concept to market, for aspiring expats called, 'How To Leave America'. I wrote sales copy with AI-assisted drafting, built the sales page in Systeme.io, ran paid ad campaigns across 3 ad platforms, and iterated based on KPI data.
I used AI for strategy talk about the best paid traffic sources, and product positioning. I prompted AI to create the book cover, landing page images, and even help with some sales copy.
This site is a content at speed case study: I trained an AI on my writing voice, used it to brainstorm topic ideas, then had it produce all 17 articles, in a fraction of the time it would take me to write them.
The site was built in Claude as HTML/CSS. Then I had it package that up as a WordPress import. About 30% of build time was in Claude, 70% tweaking code, then pushed live through a fresh WordPress install in cPanel. Concept to production site in a matter of days.
I use AI every day in my workflow. It's not an existential threat to work; it's a powerful tool in my toolbox. I can prompt by dictation in 90 seconds, something that would take 5 minutes to write, and get output that would have taken 3 hours to create in Figma or Photoshop.
I use AI to talk strategy, create and edit images, and write code. I have the work experience of an industry vet, with the AI-FIRST mentality of a college grad - the best of both worlds.
At iHerb I built out the front end of a brand new tablet website. I also worked on bugs and enhancements to the award winning iHerb mobile iphone and android apps.
I was definitely out of my comfort zone working on a pure development team, but man did it level up my CSS/HTML skills! Even today, when I'm designing in Figma, I know WHY I'm nesting frames, and how that will impact the code that will ultimately be created by devs.
I designed this site visually in Photoshop and built it on the Joomla CMS platform. You don't have pixel-perfect control visually when you use a CMS. But the functionality you gain is awesome: user groups with varying access levels, rapid creation of new pages, and the ability to assign content ownership to anyone in the company.
Please note: This website was part of a 1 year development grant and is no longer live.
